Where to Eat in Bangkok is both a website and a printed directory of restaurants in Thailand. The website is packed with information about the kingdom’s remarkable cuisine. The core, however, is the descriptions of restaurants that are clients of the Where to Eat in Bangkok. The website listings, which are the same as those in the printed directory, include a portrayal of the venue, a sample of items from the menu, a map indicating the restaurant’s location, and specific information about its dress code, opening hours, corkage policy, parking facilities, accessibility to public transportation and the like. The descriptions also include a link to the restaurant's own website.
Another feature of the website is the ‘Breaking News’ section. Prominently located on the homepage, it provides news of promotions and other newsworthy events at restaurants in Thailand. The website also includes a section where visitors can register so they can receive Where to Eat in Bangkok’s monthly food and beverage newsletter. Initially the newsletter will be emailed to registrants, but a more comprehensive version will eventually be accessible by use of a password. A variety of promotions, including a monthly contest for a BHT 3,000 voucher for dining at a client restaurant, encourages website visitors to register for the newsletter.
An integral part of the Where to Eat in Bangkok package is its annual Directory of Restaurants in Thailand. Published in A5 size, the guide includes all of the restaurants that are Where to Eat in Bangkok clients. It has several features distinguishing it from other restaurant directories. Although published yearly, it is distributed monthly. Even though it is sold in selected bookstores in Thailand and will soon be available at selected outlets abroad, it is available free of charge at client businesses, a factor greatly increasing its availability. It is also distributed monthly to embassies, international agencies, travel agents, public relations departments, serviced apartments, and chambers of commerce.
The Where to Eat in Bangkok website also includes features on Thai food, reviews of restaurants, descriptions of unique Thai ingredients and cooking techniques and some general articles about travel and culture.
